Young offenders to be given chance to take part in Naples 2019 Opening Ceremony

Young inmates will be given the opportunity to take part in the Opening Ceremony for the Summer Universiade live at Naples next month.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the organisers of Naples 20-19 and also the Campania Centre for Juvenile Justice to involve minors from the sporting events.


 

One aspect of the agreement will see accompanied minors permitted to participate within the Opening Ceremony in San Paolo Stadium on July 3.
They will also get the chance to attend contests and training sessions from the spot throughout the Games because of complete on July 14.
"It seemed right to call for the detainees from case in order to promote culture and the values of game, as a possibility of redemption and rehabilitation," said Naples 2019 Outstanding Commissioner Gianluca Basile.
"In this regard, the Universiade ambassadors, Massimiliano Rosolino and Patrizio Oliva, will satisfy the youngsters of the Juvenile Penal Institute of Nisida [Naples] and the ones of Airola [Benevento] to talk about their experience as example for their social re-integration."
Director of this Campania Juvenile Justice Center added:"Today's signing marks a turning point in community policies.
"Even the children of the area will finally participate in a worldwide sporting event just like their peers, at the spirit of game, even in its various areas, discovering our kids' abilities"
